Separate and apart from my literary agency I offer editorial services to individual writers and businesses wishing to have their work professionally edited.  Examples of what I edit include business and technical reports, manuals and documents, educational catalogs and brochures, as well as manuscript proposals and completed manuscripts.

Manuscripts and Manuscript Proposals
(children and adult; fiction, nonfiction, poetry)

• Advice on characterization, theme development, and generally “tightening” the story line

Illustrations

• Suggestions on subject matter, page layout, and presentation

• Guidance on correct procedures for submitting portfolio and sample illustrations to publishers

My standard fee for these services is four dollars ($4) per double-spaced, typewritten page, or four dollars ($4) per each illustration, with a fifty dollar ($50) minimum.

For each manuscript or illustration submission, include your payment made payable to Barbara Casey along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope.  I usually request a four-week turnaround period.
